I recently made something I’d love to showcase—the NYT mini-stealer! Have you ever been oh-so-competitive about the crossword mini, but have friends who don’t have a subscription? Maybe you want to see how your friends would do on the puzzle? In comes the mini-stealer!
Just install the chrome extension here: https://github.com/neelr/mini-stealer
The chrome extension takes the NYT mini from your web browser, url encodes the data, giving you a nice little link to send to your friends. That way, I don’t have to store anything on the server + you get to make people depend on you for the mini (a win win).
If anyone wants to try the mini today, I just finished it
As a side tangent, I absolutely love drawing on the internet. I’ll talk about it more this month probably, but I’m all for making the internet more personal. The best way to do this in my opinion is freestyle doodles! You can find some of mine at SI’s blog or around this website.
My current workflow is remarkable => figma => SVG’s I can export into a website. I love the idea of reminding people that people design websites by hand, and doodles are extremely identifiable to people. Some simple strokes and face shapes can tell you exactly who drew them. As the internet becomes more flat and depersonalized, I’m extremely excited to throw my doodles everywhere.
